Amit Bobrov I don't know how I only now saw your question. My apologies for the late reply. I think the answer would be escapism combined with a vivid imagination. My life is kind of complicated and I'm very creative as far as imagination goes, so I've built my own worlds inside and writing is a way for me to share what goes on in my head.
Amit Bobrov Well...I'm 3rd generation holocaust survivor. My family on both sides suffered either Stalin's mines, or the Nazi death camps. There are many untold stories of how my ancestors survived. Most of them died without telling too many details, but the little I do know brings to mind the term "Real Life is more wild and unimaginable than any fantasy story.".
Amit Bobrov Sit at the monitor and try to write something. Not pleased? Erase and try again. Do it long enough and on several occasions and something will come up. Also music helps (me), and coffee.
Amit Bobrov I don't know. If it's something you want to do, and you do it - that's the best thing about it. Do what you love doing.
Amit Bobrov 1. Understand that writing is a skill, just like driving. You need to learn and improve, and there is always a need for improvement. Don't let ego get in your way.

2. A good Editor is worth his/her weight in gold. Don't let ego get in your way. Treat it like a high-tech product, you want another set of eyes to analyze and correct your work.

3. Develop a thick skin. You maybe invested a thousand hours in writing, and who knows how much money. Haters will always be about, people giving you a single star, or generally hating you without ever knowing who you are. You have to stay strong and keep on trying.
Amit Bobrov The Rise of Raymond Brooks. A sequel to The Journals of Raymond Brooks.

After doing a poll among my readers I decided to write without censorship. So it's going to be a lot more violent, cruel and perhaps include other adult themes. Therefore PG18.
Amit Bobrov I guess for each writer it's different. For me growing up in a hell most people call the Middle-East, I've seen needless violence and an abundance of vain wars. I wanted to say something, voice something different. Not condemn one side or the other, because we're all human here. But to say something about what drives a man to kill. How it all seems right, but in the end, perhaps not so much. That's why I named the hero Adam. It means Man in Hebrew, and it's basically the story of man, facing an inevitable death like we all do. Struggling with the hardships of everyday life we all feel.
Amit Bobrov It's a story I built sixteen years ago. The original manuscript was over a thousand pages long. I had to cut it into several books. Nowadays I write a lot better than I did in my youth, writing is a skill after all. So I combine old ideas with new techniques.
