Officially, Sir Stamford Raffles, though the Hindu king Parameswara had arrived earlier by ship. Personally, Singapore was never lost. The Malays knew exactly where it was. There was already a populace before Raffles arrived. The Dutch knew about it and Raffles moved in quickly and created a Sultan to claim it.
Singapore was part of the Malayan territory, which already had a thriving history with Sultans and all.
So, who founded Singapore? The Malays.

I cycled with a group to a cemetery. Behind the rest, I fell on a plot with a rusty iron cross. The rest didn't notice. I suddenly felt alone.

The Wind in the Willows. Hang around in a houseboat along the river all day, all night. And maybe I'll try to invite the Cheshire Cat from the other dimension to come along. I hope he brings an extra hubbly-bubbly.

Hello Jason,
You'll probably get the same answer from a dancer, a sportsman, a painter or a culinary expert -- it's all about passion. That's what keeps me going. There is this mental Vortex that invites me across into another dimension. Once I stepped inside, my senses come into play, especially that level of curiosity. I turn to a lot of things - it could even be an encounter with a person that makes me want to continue writing. I suppose I just like telling stories. I have my days... I make mistakes ... we all do. But there's always a good movie or a box of chocolate to make you bounce back.
Thank you.

Hi Anna,
Fear is a natural feeling. I do keep in touch with others. I have also read a lot of interviews with other writers and how they've cope with their writing and rejections. Just remember the proverbial little train.
