Daniel Klawitter Trapped in a library full of trilogies. Third book missing from every one.
Daniel Klawitter One of my favorite fictional couples are the canine characters of Snitter and Rowf in The Plague Dogs by the late Richard Adams. Adams' ability to create full-blooded, complex, and sympathetic non-human characters is on excellent display in this novel about two dogs who escape from an animal testing facility...and Snitter especially is one of the most moving protagonists in contemporary literature that I've encountered.
Daniel Klawitter I think for most poets, the worst thing you can do is try to force a poem. I can go months without writing a poem fit for publication...but I try not to worry about it. I just keep reading poetry by other poets and maybe try some lines here and there when the inspiration hits me. There are also tons of writing exercises to play with...different poetic forms to practice on, etc. All the work you put into writing pays off eventually.....you may never use some of the stuff you write, but you may be able to redeem a line or two later in a different poem that is better. The hard work of writing when it isn't coming easy are building blocks that help you learn and perfect your craft.
