The garbage disposal was jammed so I reached in to fish out whatever had it clogged. It turned itself on!

Crazy as it sounds I'd go to Three Pines, Louise Penny's fictional town filled with a cast of interesting characters and of course the brilliant inspector Gamache. Probably I'd hang out at the bistro and watch the proceedings. Certainly would stay clear of the murders.

More Tony Hillerman, the new Louise Penny and William Kent Kruger mysteries when they come out in August. And probably some others that I haven't picked out yet.

Several couples come to mind right away. Miles Vorkosigan's parents are one such couple, I guess because they had such a rocky start and sucked me in which of course led to Miles. I also am partial to Aragorn and Arwen from Lord of the Rings because of all that they have to endure and sacrifice to be together. But my favorite of all, and couple might be stretching it, is Holmes and Watson, even more so now with Lucy Liu playing Watson. I really like the fact that here is a TV couple that isn't about sex. Maybe a man and woman can be friends.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the question. No epiphany. I have been interested in possible psychic abilities that might be hidden in the human mind and wondered what might happen if someone developed a way to enhance them beyond any normal expectations. Slowly that central idea grew into a novel with the central character driven to do something rash that led to lots of problems for him and those around him. Change is hard to accept for most people and this was change on a cosmic scale so the problems grew in proportion. As for the title, the book went through several working titles before I settled on Foxworth Terminus and that came about because Reggie Foxworth is the character who is changed and Terminus because what he's done will end civilization as we know it. I'm working on a sequel titled Foxworth Continuum the goes into the new order.

While War Party wasn't written with the Young Adult audience in mind, teenager readers should enjoy it. As you might expect there is some violence within the story but nothing that isn't in movies or TV shows they are watching and perhaps less than many other popular Young Adult books.

You set your own hours, which is also a curse as it is easy to procrastinate.

Write lots, work to improve every day, and don't publish until you are sure the book is the best you can make it. Just because a book can be published doesn't mean it should be. Edit, edit, edit and find someone who will give you real feedback.

A new suspense novel with an element of science fiction though unrelated to either of my previous suspense thrillers. Foxworth Terminus is the story of a scientist who discovers something extraordinary that changes not only his life, the lives of everyone around him, but also the world.

Tough question, really it seems the muse keeps working 24/7 and somehow I'm expected to get it all down in print. Right now I've got four new novels I'm working on. One should see print yet this year.

An interest in Native American culture and the possibility that terrorists might plan attacks that they expected to get away with.
