J.D. Tew Thanks for your question, Rick. I'd like to send you an .epub, because the series is only available on .mobi right now.

Send me a private message with your email, and then I'll square you away.

Hope this helps.
J.D. Tew Thank you for your interest, Scott. The character poll on my website reveals Theodore Crane's best friend Lincoln Royce as the favorite. I then do my best to avoid the scientific flaws this poll presents.
A few months ago, I took these data findings to a book signing at a middle school, here in Minnesota. After asking the children who their favorite was and why, I confirmed something about my characters for myself. Not only was Lincoln the students' favorite character, the students had sound reasons for their answers. Lincoln is incisive and bright. He is a true friend and this doesn't go unnoticed.
I never intended for Lincoln to be the favorite and figure it has a lot to do with allowing characters to pursue their role in a story. Lincoln simply found the spotlight through his dedication as a friend.
Coming in at a very close second place finish is Mariah, and Theodore is not far behind her in this character poll. Mariah is a fighter. She sees a problem for what it is and develops a solution. Her adaptability and strength gives her an edge.
This story is about developing courage and using it in life. Theodore Crane is the epitome of courageous. He is able to look beyond his existence and accept his role as a galactic leader and warrior.
The Acolytes of Crane has a supporting cast and I would be ashamed of myself for omitting any of the following favorites. ED (Emergency Device) is a quirky robot, who is sort of a sidekick and mentor. Liam is quiet, skeptical at times, but he is the crew's protector. Dan is a skateboarder with absolutely no fear, sometimes to a fault, but he is the straw stirring the entertainment drink. It seems there is someone for everybody.
J.D. Tew I was reading an article about the nanotechnology department at the University of Minnesota, and BOOM! My head nearly exploded from the influx of related ideas that surfaced.
J.D. Tew I was endowed with the ability to conjure up ideas from nothing.
I'm kidding.
I read, and then realize that I am inspired by you.
J.D. Tew A few things, but the sequel to The Acolytes of Crane is in the foreground.
J.D. Tew Don't aspire. Perspire, but don't forget deodorant.
J.D. Tew Achieving what I intended. Whether it's eliciting a physiological response from a reader or just landing a tale of morality where it counts.
J.D. Tew I never end a writing session without a plan for the next.
