Stephen King gives the best advice about this that I try my best to follow. “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. There's no way around these two things that I'm aware of, no shortcut.” and “you can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.” Both are from his book On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft. It is an essential part of my library and a book I pick up every time I feel stuck, and it inspires me to keep plugging away. I'd also add write every idea down, no matter how weird. Even if it is out of your chosen genre, write it down. You never know what will develop from it down the road.

That can vary from something silly I see at work, or a snippet of a random conversation I hear when I'm out. I tand to look at things differently than most people, so something as simple as a commercial oven in a bakery can have me asking "What if..."

Some days it's easier than others to deal with writer's block. But for me I've found random free writing helps. Granted most of it ends up as kindling for a fire, but sometimes a gem is pulled from the phoenxi's ashes. Also as an avid gamer I find taking an hour o get lost in my favorite video game does wonders to relieve stress caused by writer's block.

It's hard to pick one best thing, but for now I definitely have to say it's something that happened to me on my way back to my hometown for a visit. I had stopped in a rest area in West Virginia to stretch my leg and see how much farther I had to go. I was wearing a t-shirt with the book cover on the back. So I'm looking at the map and these two women walk out of the bathroom. I hear the one say to the other "Hey, I'm reading that right now and it's good." So of course I turn around. She looks at me and says "It's you!" Then "Don't move." She leaves and comes back with the paperback. She looks at the back cover, then at me, then at the back cover. With a grin she asks her friend for a pen and hands both to me as she asks me to sign it. Which of course I did, then we talked about the book and my next project before going our seperate ways. So those random encounters with fans of my work are the best thing so far, because I love bringing joy to my readers.

Hi there! Right now I'm working on a werewolf based trilogy to be titled Blood Ties, which is also the title of the middle book. It follows the legacy of a werewolf pack and its struggles to fit into society while remaining hidden. The tenative titles thus far are Blood Wars, Blood Ties, and Blood Lust. Those titles may change as each book develops, after all who knows?

Hi and that is a very good question. First of all forgive me for not replying sooner, but I'm in the process of creating a trilogy I hope you will enjoy. For Bite Marks, I was sitting watching tv one evening and this scene came to me. I furiously wrote it down and then nothing...it sat for about a year mocking me it seemed. Then one day Angela decided it was time to tell me her story. As for the trilogy I'm working on now, it was born from a freind's nightmares after she had listened to Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime album late one night.
