Goodreads asked C.J. Galaway:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

C.J. Galaway It's hard to pick one best thing, but for now I definitely have to say it's something that happened to me on my way back to my hometown for a visit. I had stopped in a rest area in West Virginia to stretch my leg and see how much farther I had to go. I was wearing a t-shirt with the book cover on the back. So I'm looking at the map and these two women walk out of the bathroom. I hear the one say to the other "Hey, I'm reading that right now and it's good." So of course I turn around. She looks at me and says "It's you!" Then "Don't move." She leaves and comes back with the paperback. She looks at the back cover, then at me, then at the back cover. With a grin she asks her friend for a pen and hands both to me as she asks me to sign it. Which of course I did, then we talked about the book and my next project before going our seperate ways. So those random encounters with fans of my work are the best thing so far, because I love bringing joy to my readers.
