Hi Maryann. Apologies for the slow response! The reissue of The Beast Without, with cover art by Jeanine Henning, is a new edition that has been added to the existing listing for the book. If you wish, I believe you can switch any review you've written to the new edition, but it won't be a separate listing.

Read, but read everything. Good books,. Bad books. Genre claptrap, Fine literature. Read widely in and outside your genre, and don't be afraid to mess with genre 'rules' to find your own voice. Then just keep writing and accept that while not everything you write will be good or publishable, it will be worth your time.

I have to agree. I write fiction, not literature. I accept that I have friends who write literary things, but I write common, everyday stories of people--readable, entertaining, and like neighbors and common folk in any town USA. But I write. and as a very wise writer and teacher of writing says: BIS. Butts in Seat (Jane Yolen). It means quite talking about writing and sit down and write--even if you throw it all away at a later date. Just write. Somewhere along the way that gem with appear and it will become beautiful.
