I had read a couple of these books before going off on the motorcycle trip. There didn't appear to be any books written by an older female about such travel so the idea of filling that gap appealed.My book is a travel memoir and I wanted to narrate each step of the journey as if writing a fascinating letter with verve and immediacy to achieve a lively narrative. That was the challenge and the material was at my fingertips.

I am working on getting it together to do more travelling on my motorbike. The next adventure will be from Chile to Alaska and revisiting South America after nearly 40 years. Typing up those old diaries and weaving into the new maybe the next book.

I think for me being a writer was a chance to express myself and share my travel experiences. Books and travel are two of my passions so it was a joy to link them by writing. Seemingly motorbikes have entered the picture.

I haven't experienced writer's block. I wrote a book about something I knew a lot about and I felt comfortable and natural with that so there wasn't any anxiety that I would think is associated with writer's block.
