My idea for Land of Enchantas just came from driving around with a friend when I was 20 years old. I have always wanted to write a novel, but didn't know what genre. Over the years I really enjoyed fantasy and science fiction. So I decided to write fantasy, like my favorite childhood book "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", but wanted to make it more modernized with teenagers from this generation. The original storyline was too large, so I decided to write a trilogy early on.

Reading a good book inspires me to write. I'm also inspired by nature and long drives.

I have just finished Return to Enchantas. I am currently in the note-taking and story-line stages of the third book of the Enchantas series. The working title is "Curse of Enchantas".

Don't quit...and be proud of yourself every time you sit down and write...

The best thing about being a writer for me is the feeling you have when your up late at night writing and the story is flowing. You need to keep writing no matter how tired you are because you want your characters to succeed.
The other best thing about writing is watching your characters develop as you write. I have found that as I write, my characters begin to change in a way I never intended, but in hindsight, it made the story much better. I found this very exciting as I wrote my new novel; Return to Enchantas.

The best way I found to deal with writer's block was to take a break from writing and go back and reread what you wrote. As for my first novel, Land of Enchantas, I had writer's block during the Foxtown chapter. After I took a few years off of writing, I got back into the story and rewrote the entire chapter. After I began the story again, everything started to flow better than the original round. So, though you may be flustered with writer's block, think of it as the story is trying to tell you it doesn't want you to write it that way.
