Corey M. LaBissoniere, a native of Houghton Michigan, which is located in the western tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is a first time author.

Corey is a graduate of Houghton High School, followed by his associates degree from Gogebic Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan Technological University.

Corey has always wanted to become a published author. He remembers his first short story was written in 2nd Grade. However, it wasn’t until after high school that he pursued his dream and started his first novel. He wrote about half the book, but then life’s obstacles interfered and he never got to finish. It was not until after years of busy college, work and a bad case of writers block when he finally returned to

As for my first novel, Land of Enchantas, I had writer's block during the Foxtown chapter. After I took a few years off of writing, I got back into the story and rewrote the entire chapter. After I began the story again, everything started to flow better than the original round. So, though you may be flustered with writer's block, think of it as the story is trying to tell you it doesn't want you to write it that way. (less)

You need to keep writing no matter how tired you are because you want your characters to succeed.

The other best thing about writing is watching your characters develop as you write. I have found that as I write, my characters begin to change in a way I never intended, but in hindsight, it made the story much better. I found this very exciting as I wrote my new novel; Return to Enchantas.(less)

“The marble not yet carved can hold the form of every thought the greatest artist has.” - Michelangelo
“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” - Michelangelo
“I have found that these quotes from Michelangelo are not only true for artists, but are also very true for writers and the stories we create. We must look at stories as blocks of stone or wood, waiting for their creation to be released. These stories are already there for us to capture, we only need to find the means of using our imagination to sculpt these stories into books and share them with the world.”
