Books six and seven in the W. W. Ronin series of Westerns. "The Mountain Is Easy" is set in 1901 at Lake Tahoe. "Bathhouse Row" is set in 1889 at four Nevada / California hotsprings--Steamboat, Springs, Shaw's in Carson City, Wally's in Genoa and Grovers in Markleeville, California. Plenty of action and plenty of history.

I'm committed to filling a perceived void. When I lived in Nevada, I couldn't find enough Nevada historical fiction to acquaint myself with the area. Writing it, I'm telling stories I'm newly acquainted with and my kids never heard. I have a couple of unfinished books, too. Among them, a detective fiction book, set in Hawaii and New Jersey. I love reading and writing place-based fiction.

Writers write. Forget everything else--the agony of covers, who your beta readers are or will be, whether or not you should write in first person or third person, etcetera. If you need to think about what you're going to do, do that first. Then get busy. I set a goal of writing 3,000 to 5,000 words a week, while holding down two full time jobs. It's possible.
