My suggestion is to just write and not worry about publication. Once you have your manuscript polished and you are pleased with it then think about what you're going to do with it.
Yes, the market is crowded and the competition is fierce, but we have publishing options. There are small publishers who are often willing to take a risk on a new author as well as independent publishing. Indie publishing is hard work and time consuming, but you have complete control of your book when you publish it yourself.

I've given this a lot of consideration because I've never thought about it before. I think Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice is probably my favorite even though they weren't really a couple until the end. I enjoyed their banter.

I have days when the words won't come and I give myself permission to do something else. I revisit my manuscript the next day with a fresh mind and sometimes the story will start to flow, or I will realize I need to go back and rethink a few things.

I just turned in my final contracted book that will release in March of 2015. It's a Valentine's Day book, that was inspired on Valentine's Day. :)
