I simply wait, pray and look for inspiration in my work and on my farm. Generally something will eventually trigger the words and the story starts flowing again.

I love creating stories. I have a small group of friends who read my books as I am writing and they are always asking for the next chapter. I love watching my characters grow as I write their story. I laugh and cry with them, as my fingers do the tapping.
Probably the best thing is when one of my readers write to me and tell me how believable my story is, and how they can imagine themselves in the storyline.

Never give up. If you have a story in your head, put pen to paper and get it written down. Nothing happens overnight. It can take up to two years before the right publisher is found.

I am currently writing a trilogy and have completed the first book called 'The One' and the second book is called 'The Chosen Ones'. The third book is in the process of being written.
The series is about what would happen if the power grid suddenly went down forever. We would be instantly thrown into the pre-industrial age. Nothing electrical works. You would have no car, phone, or power in your home. What would you do if suddenly the supermarkets had no food. How would you get water when the taps no longer work, or the toilet no longer flushes. Those medical supplies are no longer available for your sick child. You will no longer be able to just hop into a car and go to the shops for supplies. The city would become a dangerous jungle and survival would be only for those who managed to leave the city in time.
The story revolves around Jo, her husband and three children. Jo receives visions that tell her to leave the city and buy a farm. She is warned that something big is going to happen and she needs to prepare her family for this. She meets Jock, the old owner of the farm, who teaches Jo all he knows about farming. He insists that she is 'The One' who will help bring in a new era for the survivors.
This story follows Jo and her family as they each separately make their way out of the city and try to get back home after the world changing event occurs. Further mysterious events occur that test Jo's faith and she must overcome all her insecurities in order to keep her family safe.

I live on a 5 acre farm and love sitting on the veranda in the evening with my laptop. The peaceful view and quietness of the evening, help me to focus on my writing. Everyday events come to life as I tap away on the keyboard. This brings a sense of reality to my story.

I work in a community hospital setting, where I see a lot of people who overcome disabilities and live normal lives in their own homes. I wondered what it would be like for a young woman in the 18th century. At that time there were no medical breakthroughs to help people with disabilities. Many had to rely on the charity of their families, in order to survive.
