Jonathan-David Jackson From when I was 12-16, I was part of an online community, and sometimes I would write short stories on there. People sometimes told me that I should collect them all into a book, but I didn't really take it seriously. In my later teens, sometimes I would read a book and think "I could write something better than this." So from maybe when I was 18 years old, I wanted to write a book - it took a lot longer to actually do it.
Jonathan-David Jackson I love all of the characters, but if I had to choose it'd be Penelope. As I was writing The Quest for Juice, I found out that she's very physically tough. Even though Oscar is the main character, Penelope is usually the one getting them out of the situations they get into, and she's often doing it by breaking somebody's face. Unlike everyone else, Penelope understands the seriousness of the situation they're in and is pretty much all business.
