I don't know that my life has had many mysteries. If I were to derive something, I remember that when I lived in Germany, all the Army kids lived in a couple of apartment buildings that shared a basement. We would hang out down there and play. It was fun, and I could leverage that space to make a mystery or spooky story.

You'll hear this all the time, but write. Write. Write some more. It doesn't matter if the first draft is horrible, or if your grammar is bad. Write the darn book. Once it's on paper, it can be edited. It can be fixed. If it never makes it to the first draft, then you aren't a writer, and you can't make your story come to life.

My most recent book, due to be published at the end of July, came from a roleplaying game called Nobilis. The idea that a person could embody the very essence of a concept was fascinating to me and I wanted to put my own spin on it.
