Write. You can just type words in the computer. You can do pre-planning--like figuring out who your characters are, figuring out what the conflict is, but write. Join a writing group either on line or nearby, take on line courses, share what you've written with others for feedback. Be prepared for the negative, but don't let that stop you. If you want to write, you must write. Go for it. The writing won't come out perfect (at least mine doesn't), but you can always fix those words. See earlier question. Bottom line. Write.

Well, it is super exciting to see a book with my name on it. But probably the best has been all the wonderful folks I've met since starting on this trek. Romance authors are incredibly supportive. I've been overwhelmed with their helpfulness. In the same way, I've tried to help others.

I start the next book before I've entirely finished the one before. It keeps the creative juices flowing. I also put a small stuffed puppy named Scruffy where I can see him. He reminds me to play a bit. Put any words down and they can be fixed, however awful they are at first. Put nothing down and you don't get a book. LOL

I'm about to start the third book in my series. The second one, ACT OF TRUST, is written by not out yet. I want to write the third book, ACT OF BETRAYAL first. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'd have something in the second book that I just can't pull off in the third. Planning on a trip to Dallas to do a bit of research in the next month or so. I'm familiar with the area of town the story is set in, but it's been several years and want to refresh my memory.

Usually a place inspires me to write. Settings are big in my books and I have to know what that is before I can write.

My younger daughter gave me the idea for The Second Chances series. We were riding in the car one day and I said, "I'd really like to write a series, but I can't figure out who it should be about." With little thought on her part she siad, "Write about four women who met at summer camp when they were kids." She and her sister had spent years at a camp and still were good friends with many of those women.
