Goodreads asked Marsha R. West:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Marsha R. West Write. You can just type words in the computer. You can do pre-planning--like figuring out who your characters are, figuring out what the conflict is, but write. Join a writing group either on line or nearby, take on line courses, share what you've written with others for feedback. Be prepared for the negative, but don't let that stop you. If you want to write, you must write. Go for it. The writing won't come out perfect (at least mine doesn't), but you can always fix those words. See earlier question. Bottom line. Write.
