S.M.M. Lindström Figure out what you enjoy reading, then make more of that. I'm not telling you to copy someone else (though I think fanfiction - which is expanding one someone else's work, not copying - is a great way to both make more stuff you enjoy to read and practice your writing), just to find out what you like to read and think of why. Then, think about what you haven't seen in those stories you've read, that you would like to see, and add that.

Also, figure out if you're a 'planner' or a 'in the moment' writer, or somewhere in-between. Both are equally good strategies, so there's no 'better' option; just find out which works best for you.

S.M.M. Lindström I try to figure out why I'm having a hard time writing. Usually it's because I've A) grown tired of the scene and think it's boring, which means I should scrap it and start over with it, or B) that I'm not sure where I'm going with the story, don't know the characters well enough, etc., which I solve by delving deeper into planning out the plot and giving the characters more detailed personalities and backstories.
S.M.M. Lindström Oh boy, that's quite a list.

The biggest projects I've got going right now are 'Travel to Other Shores' (a sequel to 'How to sway them'), a two part superhero/erotica story called 'Twelve Months of Villainy' & 'Professor Balance and Equilibrium', a steampunk/fantasy trilogy (I know, they're always trilogies) called 'Of Dwarves and Elves', a collaboration with my sister called 'Secrets in Ice', a superhero comic I'm planning with my sister called 'What Happened After', an urban fantasy story called 'A loyal man', and two loosely connected fantasy stories called 'Blood of Your Blood' and 'Portal Guards'.

Also, there's a straight forward erotica story I for now just call 'Theater'. Other than that I've got several shorter stories planned, and I'm also writing a lot of fanfiction.
S.M.M. Lindström For me, getting inspiration is the easy part of writing. Actually finding the time and patience to sit down and write is the challenge. I've found that I write best when I have the plot all mapped out and planned. Listening to music, looking at artwork and especially commissioning people (or asking my wonderful sister) to draw the characters in the story are other great ways to be inspired to tell a story, not just plan it.
S.M.M. Lindström The inspiration for 'How to sway them', along with the inspiration for most of my writing project, comes from what I myself have enjoyed reading/watching before, along with what I've felt I've been missing from those stories. For 'How to sway them' I went through all my favorite characters and worlds I've enjoyed from other authors and other creators over the years. With that done, I started thinking of why I enjoyed said characters, worlds, plots and went on from there.
