Writer's block is a hard thing to deal with, even on the best of days. Honestly, I've found giving myself permission to take some time off writing and get my head together works the best. If I try to force it, the words come out all stilted. If the writer's block persists on a particular project I'm working on, I'll switch gears to work on another WIP and usually that jump starts the spark again.

So many things, but I think the two best things for me being a writer right now is getting to share my characters and their worlds with my co-writer Nikka Michaels. Co-writing isn't for everyone, I get that, but it works for us and makes the act of writing (which is such a solitary endeavor) so much less lonely. The other thing I love is sharing my brain with my characters. I'll be out somewhere and my characters will start jabbering in my head about how they feel about what's going on. It's a strange feeling but I love listening to them :)

Write. Edit. Share with trusted friends who'll give honest feedback. Write some more. But most importantly - submit. It's a daunting thing but at some point you have to take the risk.

Nikka Michaels and I are currently working on Book 3 of the In The Kitchen series, as well as writing Books 2 and 3 of the Cooper Mountain Series. I have plans for a solo work that I've had outlined and started in my WIPs file that centers around two men who meet in a museum.

Wow - what doesn't inspire me to write? sometimes it's a song or a commercial. Sometimes it's a random conversation with a friend (most times Nikka Michaels) where I find myself asking, "What if ...?" Or sometimes a plot bunny comes from an actual real life event that begs to be put in a book.

The concept for Cooper Mountain: Stripped Bare (released November 14, 2014 by Evernight Publishing) developed over a year's time with Nikka Michaels. We both love reading books with BDSM elements but we kept asking the question, "What about newbies? Where would they even go if they were interested in it?" From there, we did some research and came up with our own version of how that first "lesson" might go.
