Jacqueline E. Smith Hi, Annie! Sorry about the late response! I need to check my author dashboard more often!

I'm in the process of finishing up the fourth Boy Band book and as of right now, it will be the last in the series. I don't want to say that it is definitely the end, however. You never know what the future may hold! For example, I am considering a prequel of sorts from Sam's perspective. :)
Jacqueline E. Smith Hey Thea! That's a hard question! I love all three of them, but I was really, really happy with how the third one turned out. I was also surprised by how it ended! I can't wait to finish the fourth book! <3
Jacqueline E. Smith Worldwide is already out! It's been out since the middle of July! <3
Jacqueline E. Smith For me, a best friend is someone you can be 100% yourself around. You can tell them anything. You can drop every pretense, every facade around that person and be absolutely honest and genuine. I can think of only two people I'd trust with my true self like that.

A close friend is just that. Very close. I am compulsively honest, so I don't have very many secrets, but I'm not likely to let my guard down and appear vulnerable around a close friend the way I am around a best friend. :)
Jacqueline E. Smith 1. I love Josh. I've always had a weakness for guys who can make me laugh.
2. I was inspired to write Boy Band after my sister and I spent an evening watching music videos, mostly boy bands. Imagine that! ;)
3. I'm actually not much of a planner or a plotter. I write these books as they play out in my head. Like watching a movie and writing down what happens. I have somewhat of an idea going in what will happen, but it can always change. The end of the third book, Worldwide, wasn't planned or expected at ALL.
4. My sister helps a lot with the lyrics. I'm not a very good poet. If it's a lyric that I wrote, however, I just imagine an upbeat melody in my head and make up words to go along with it.
Jacqueline E. Smith Agh! Thank you so much, Mina! You just made my whole day! Yes, I am writing the fourth one as we speak and I plan on writing a fifth (and possibly a Luke Rainer prequel) as well! <3
Jacqueline E. Smith Thank you so much! You just totally made my day! The answer to you question is YES! I can also tell you that the sequel will be called Backstage and will be available on December 8!

Jacqueline E. Smith Thank you so much! Yes, I have! I grew up in a house haunted by several spirits, of humans as well as animals! I've come face to face with a shadow figure as well as captured what I believe to be the manifestation of a spirit on camera!
Jacqueline E. Smith For me, the difference between a good story and a great story is how I experience it. A good book gives me something to enjoy while going about my daily life. A great book pulls me in and makes its life my own. I remember the first time I read The Hunger Games. I spent two days in Panem, in the Revolution, fighting alongside Katniss. Good stories entertain. Great stories transport.
Jacqueline E. Smith This is a hard question, but I think I'd pick Luke. I love his optimism and his passion for what he does. I think he genuinely loves life and, although he doesn't always act it, he's actually pretty smart.
Jacqueline E. Smith I decided to make her an interior decorator after attending a party that our dear family friend (also an interior decorator) invited us to see some of her work. I thought it was just the coolest job ever and I knew that's what I wanted Kate to do! As for her disability, it came to me one night after reading an article on the brain. I find it fascinating what the brain is capable of enduring and how it mends itself, even if some of it's information is altered or deleted.
Jacqueline E. Smith I have seen a few, but my family and I've had far more experiences with entities that are unseen. For example, my cat once freaked out and started staring at something I couldn't see in the hallway. I went out to check and walked through a cloud of my grandmother's perfume. She's been gone twenty years now. One of the ones I've seen, however, is the same one my dad and sister have also seen. It's a white shadow figure that haunts the back of my parents' house and we startled each other one evening. I'm definitely a believer!
Jacqueline E. Smith It's funny. Characters have never been very challenging for me, because they're always my favorite part of the story. What challenges me is not becoming too emotionally wrapped up in what my characters are feeling. For example, I hate writing embarrassment or hurt feelings, because I always end up feeling how my characters feel. I hate miscommunication, I hate betrayal, and I hate guilt. On the flip side, there are certain emotions that I really enjoy writing. For some reason, I really enjoyed writing the psychotic antagonist in Cemetery Tours. That person really creeped me out.
Jacqueline E. Smith My favorite part has been connecting with other writers and discovering new books to read and review and being able to share my books in the same community! It's amazing!
Jacqueline E. Smith Don't give up. Believe in yourself and what you are doing. Enjoy the process and enjoy the work. Be persistent and be patient. Believe you are good enough. Don't get discouraged by what other people think or say. And write for yourself. Don't write to please someone else. Write what you would want to read. Write because it's what you love to do. And join GoodReads.
Jacqueline E. Smith Any number of things can inspire me to write: a certain song, a certain image, a place, an event, a person... I have iTunes playlists and secret Pinterest boards for every story inside my head. And there are a lot.
Jacqueline E. Smith My most recent book is a sequel to my first novel, Cemetery Tours. I anticipate at least two or three more books in the series! The idea for Between Worlds actually came to be before the idea for Cemetery Tours, so I wrote the first as sort of an introductory novel in order to write the second one.
Jacqueline E. Smith I'm working on the third book in the Cemetery Tours series and the first book in a new series! Very exciting!
Jacqueline E. Smith The only way to deal with writer's block is to keep on writing! Every writer goes through writer's block. I've had aspiring authors tell me that they've let writer's block discourage them from finishing their books. Don't let that happen! Whatever you do, just keep on writing. Remember, you're writing the first draft. You can always go back and change whatever you wrote. In fact, you probably will. Just keep writing!
