I went to my 20-year high school reunion and it brought on a flood of emotions and revelations.

I get hit with ideas on a daily basis. I have found that if I don't write them down, they are lost forever. I also write stand-up comedy, and the same applies there. After awhile I have a ton of material and every time I look at it, I either get inspired to develop it further, or it gives me ideas for other things. Once you get the ball rolling, there tends to be a tidal way of enthusiasm and motivation to get you going. Then, it just becomes a question of follow through, which is the most challenging aspect.

I simply schedule time to write every day and make something happen. If I actually feel blocked, usually it is just because I am fatigued on one particular idea and I may be distracted or it is time to get up and take a walk. Then, I might have to leave that particular topic or project, work on something else for a bit, and then I can get right back to it.
