Jon Frederickson I never have writer's block. I just have times that I need to let ideas gestate. What others call writer's block I call pregnancy. I have learned to trust the silent times, when the ideas need a chance to germinate within. To a certain extent, we never write a book. The book is written within and we have to wait for the internal writer and thinker to complete its job so we can type it out.

Jon Frederickson It was clear that students I was teaching wanted a book that would not only explain theory in a clear way, but show how to put it into effective practice. I realized that therapists need not only to understand what is going on but what to do. To be effective as therapists, we need to know what to do to be effective so patients can change.
