Biting into smiling faces--arm, then leg--soft and sweet between my teeth. I am sated.

The Magicians Quentin and Alice, for sure. Probably because of the whole fox thing. I love foxes.

The easiest way to deal with writers block is to not believe in it. It is impossible to sit in front of a page and for there to be no words. There are always words. Sometimes it is difficult to make yourself sit down in front of the page. And sometimes you don't know what will happen next, but those are easy fixes. Always make time to write, even if its just 15 minutes a day. And if you are stuck at one spot in your story, jump to another spot for a while.

I never run out of stories to immerse myself in.

Practice makes perfect. Never stop writing. There is something to be said for finishing. Write your story all the way through, and then edit it all the way through. Your next story will be 10 times better.
Also get plenty of feedback and don't be in such a hurry to publish that you don't do right by your readers.

A middle grade fantasy about a girl who is part human and part bat. Another story about a girl and a talking horse. A SF about a time traveller. Another epic fantasy about a Princess who is both running away from her destiny and running headlong into it at the same time. A steampunk story about a world covered in storms with lots of airships. And a half dozen others.

I loved to read when I was younger. I would read so much that I would get in trouble. I was banned from the school library once. And another time I got detention because I marked every answer on a test as "C" so that I could use the remaining test time as a free reading period. At night, my mom would make me put down my book and go to sleep, and since I couldn't keep reading, I would continue the story in my head. When I realized I could make my own stories, it totally blew my mind. I have been writing ever since.

A lot of my ideas come from dreams. I get a clear image of something bizarre and illogical in that way that only dreams can be, and then as I try to make sense of it, I construct a story of how it came to be. Often an entire story is built around a single strange image that lingers and gets under my skin, not letting me rest until it is written.
