I am working on a sequel to The List of Dead Smiths, that's all I can say without giving it away.

Very often in life, things happen that we have no control over. Good TV shows are canceled, your favorite music source is ruined, the store is out of Pepsi. Being a writer means you can fix these things.

I hope I never get to a point where I know the answer to that question. I have tons of stories bumping around in my brain. My biggest problem is what do I write first?

Sometimes, I don't feel inspired, but things happen. Recently, I was feeling like I should stop writing my current novel and start another, but then I went to my first writers meeting. We each had to read five pages. I read the first five pages of The List of Dead Smiths, and they laughed. No, it's okay, they were supposed to laugh. I write humorous mysteries, but I had never heard anyone laugh at my work. It was very uplifting and inspired me to get back into the sequel to the List of Dead Smiths.

I have no good answers, personally I love writing, so I keep writing whether anyone wants me to, or not. If you love writing, do it.

I was riding my bicycle around Naples, Florida (which is how I get most of my ideas) when I pictured a scene in which Ambassador Smith was being crushed by two heavy-set Asian hookers. I knew Ambassador Smith would die, unbeknownst to the Asian "sisters", and I knew it had been planned by an outside source. When I asked myself what the heck that was, my internal voice said The List of Dead Smiths.
