How do you get inspired to write?

D.L. Williams Sometimes, I don't feel inspired, but things happen. Recently, I was feeling like I should stop writing my current novel and start another, but then I went to my first writers meeting. We each had to read five pages. I read the first five pages of The List of Dead Smiths, and they laughed. No, it's okay, they were supposed to laugh. I write humorous mysteries, but I had never heard anyone laugh at my work. It was very uplifting and inspired me to get back into the sequel to the List of Dead Smiths.
