Sarah E. Smith Refugee by Alan Gratz. If you haven't read it yet. Do.
Sarah E. Smith Now that's a toughy. I'm tempted to say Gomez and Morticia Addams. I loved the Addams family as a kid. It was their quirkiness, their different but very obvious moral code and their love for one another. In traditional fiction, I'm going to go with Edmond Dantes and Mercedes from the Count of Monte Christo. It's one of those love stories you hope resolves itself outside the covers of the book - one day.
Sarah E. Smith I spend a lot of time bending my other halfs ear; talking ideas through, posing questions - basically doing his head in! Also I'll go off on a tangent and google some random historical thing and see if that gives me any inspiration

Smith I have two projects on the go: the third book in the Aldwych Strand Series which sees Lucy stranded in London in the Summer/Autumn of 1888; and the first of the Symington Byrd mysteries set in the golden age of crime fiction. This new series sees Earl Byrd, CC and the mysterious Emily Davies solve crimes which - because of their sensitive nature - must be handled with discretion and kept out of the newspapers
Sarah E. Smith My commute to work gives me a lot of time to think. Bizarrely the more stressful my day - the more I find I can write
Sarah E. Smith I've always been fascinated by the What if in history and for Mark and Lucy's second adventure wanted to explore that idea further - taking the question, what if Churchill had never become prime minister...
