I never read or saw a story like the one I wanted to tell. Initially, that realization inspired me. Toni Morrison said, "If there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." I agree. Post debut novel, the desire to convey a meaningful message motivates me.

My second novel takes place in the US, and I plan to release it in February. Once again, I wrote a fiction hybrid-part women's fiction, part Thriller and infused with suspense.

Do your homework. Read quality books about writing like Stephen King's On Writing. Read A.P.E. by Guy Kawasaki to learn about marketing, etc. As Stephen King said, "If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write." Study the works of successful authors in a favored genre. If a reality show eliminates your daily reading time, don't expect to optimize your potential as a writer. As Ted Turner said, "Garbage in, garbage out."

The best thing about being a writer is the opportunity to meet readers. Especially rewarding-knowing that they understand the allegorical aspect of the story. I enjoy writing to entertain but also to convey stories about tough, strong resourceful women who cope with daunting situations. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, "A woman is like a teabag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water." I call it takeaway fiction, fiction with a meaningful message. As Jodi Picoult said, "Fiction is the back door to truth."

Above all, she must forgive to forge ahead to lock-in on the plan for her life. Writing to empower women to elevate women proves gratifying beyond my greatest expectations. Yes, I have several times. To move beyond the rut, I go for a long walk with my dogs or I indulge my love for art by finding time to view it. Art and music move me from point A to point Z.
Also, I don’t worry about it especially with a first draft. I just bulldoze ahead. As Stephen King said, “The first draft is a book in its socks and underwear.”
