Victoria Laurie Hi Sherrie!
I'm working on the next Abby right now. The Spellbound series will be much like the Ghost Hunter series - a bit dark, a lot suspenseful, and a whole lotta sexy. I think you'd enjoy it, so check out the new release, A Spell to Unbind!
Victoria Laurie Hi Cindy!
Aren't you SO sweet to write such lovely praise for my Ghost Hunter mysteries?! Thank you, sugar, that's so kind of you. The Ghost Hunter series ended with book ten, A Ghoul's Guide to Love and Murder. I allowed M.J. and Heath to retire to wedded bliss, and I've moved on to other projects. Still, as you loved the Ghost Hunter series, I suggest you check out my brand new release, A Spell to Unbind. I wrote that novel with fans of the Ghost Hunter series in mind. I think you really might like, Esme. :)
Victoria Laurie Awww! Dima, you're so sweet! You know, Abby was optioned by the Hallmark Channel a few years back, and we were very hopeful that she'd get made into a movie, however, the network concluded that it's viewers were not yet ready for a professional psychic protagonist, and, I think I might agree. So, until someone else reaches out to option the book or the series, she will remain in only between the pages. ;)
Victoria Laurie Yeppers! Working on Abby XVII right now!
Victoria Laurie Wow. I think I'm a little stunned by the entitlement of this "question," which isn't so much a question as it's a reprimand in "disguise". I do not write for you, Maryann. I write for me. My novels are written for my own pleasure and shared with the rest of the world because I love sharing a good story with friends and I'm always looking for fellow kindred spirits out there who love a good story To that end, I write novels pretty exclusively about modern, empowered, strong, independent women who should NEVER be reprimanded for their sexuality. Who I choose for these women to go to bed with isn't open for discussion. Period. If you don't like what I write, please feel free to venture into other book stacks, and also perhaps reconsider exerting that entitled attitude to my fellow peers should you disapprove of some other author's choices. I doubt any comment like the one you've left for me will be met with as much cordiality as I've currently afforded you.
Victoria Laurie I love this question, Zyneb, thank you for asking it. I would say that the book that perhaps had the greatest impact on my life was one I read when I was ten-years-old. It was by an author named Erma Bombeck, and it was called, If Life Is A Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing In the Pits? The reason it had such an impact on me was that it was my first "adult" book - Erma was a housewife raising 3 kids, and she wasn't the most nurturing of souls, but she was FUNNY! I remember laughing and laughing as I turned the pages, and it was such an escape for me - as a kid, I was severely abused by a mentally ill mother - but this book gave me a window of light into another world, funny, sarcastic, witty world. I loved it, and I think I read it like twenty times. It definitely shaped how I approach my writing all these years later. Thank you again for your question. xoxo
Victoria Laurie Hi Sherrie! As a matter of fact, my first book in my new series, The Life Coach Mysteries JUST came out this week! The first book is titled, Coached to Death and it features Cat from the Abby Cooper series and Gilley! It's a hoot! And I hope you check it out. Thank you so much for reaching out and being a fan. xoxo
Victoria Laurie Awww, thank you for the compliment, Mia! I'm percolating on an idea for a sequel, and I've written a few chapters in that direction, so my best answer is..."maybe?" ;) xoxo
Victoria Laurie It sure will! It's slated to be released on November 12th. I'll update this answer if that date gets moved. Thanks so much for reaching out! xoxo
Victoria Laurie Hi Mandy!

Great to hear from you, and thank you for your question. :)

In answer I'd have to say that I relate to Abby just a teensy bit more than I relate to M.J.; however, most people who know me well would probably say my personality reflects M.J. over Abby.

They're both my girls, though, and I love them pretty equally. :)

Thanks again for your lovely praise and your thoughtful question. Have a lovely day!

Victoria
Victoria Laurie Hi Daniela!

You're so sweet! Thank you for the lovely praise. :)
To your first question, yes, it's definitely possible that as you get older you become more sensitive, but it could also be that the "amplitude" of events taking place around you has heightened, and that's why you're a little more sensitive than normal. There's lots of negativity in the air lately, so I think we're all a bit more receptive and walking around with heightened awareness. It's exhausting, no? :)
To your second question, Theresa is based on a dear friend named Rebecca Rosen. She does take on clients, but I believe she is SO good that her waiting list is at least a couple of years. You may find out more information about her amazing abilities at: www.rebeccarosen.com.

Best of luck to you and thank you again!

Victoria Laurie Leslie,

My favorite word in the entire English language is the "f*bomb." I've dropped lots of them in my career, and, I'm unapologetic about it. Asking me to use less of them is, I'm so sorry to say, completely inappropriate. I know you don't mean to insult me, but can you see how insulting it is to ask an author to censor herself in the future? It's bad form and truly not appreciated. I would end by telling you that if you didn't like the words that I use to please find another author to read, but more than anything I don't wish to upset you, or make you feel bad. I simply wish to educate you, and make you look at this from a different perspective - mine as the story's creator. You wouldn't limit an artist's use of vibrant colors, so please don't attempt to limit my pallet either. More than anything I wish for you to accept my writing as it is, and enjoy it for what it is,...f*bombs and all.

My best to you,

Victoria
Victoria Laurie I think you can start anywhere, Angelee. I just gave the whole set to a dear friend of mine who hadn't read the books, and he started with number eleven and is moving through them based solely on the covers that appeal to him. He doesn't appear at all lost and is thankfully enjoying them a great deal,...of course, he's an engineer by trade, and maybe he's got an awesome sense of direction like that. :)

Still, I can only speak personally, and I like to read my series books from the beginning, but I don't think it should matter very much at all if you read them out of order.

My best,

Victoria
Victoria Laurie Hi Laura!

So sweet of you to let me know what a huge fan you are of the Ghost Hunter series. I so appreciate that. :)

And, at the risk of making you sad, I will admit that this is the final M.J. There will not be any more books with her as I feel so strongly she's earned a chance to retire from making public appearances, so to speak. She and I had ten glorious years together, and so much fun thanks to amazing fans like you, and for that, I can't thank you enough. :)

Hugs, honey,

Victoria
Victoria Laurie Hi Glen!

I love that you're so invested in the series that you're already thinking up alternate plots! To your specific idea here, however, I will say that it's a remarkably creative one, but one that would require a bit more fantasy than Abby's world would allow. She's very, very close to reality, and there currently doesn't exist an "anti-psychic" that I know of that could plausibly take away her abilities. Plus, I personally think that the point of the series is to showcase how limited psychics actually are. We see things others can't, but not always in context, and that's what makes it challenging and fun to revolve a mystery around. Thanks so much for the idea, however, I LOVE that imagination of yours! So clever! :)

My best,

Victoria
Victoria Laurie Hi Tonia!

So sorry, my friend, but When truly is a standalone book. I wrote it in such a way that it was a complete story and I have absolutely no plans for a sequel. On the very, (very) slim chance I ever do, I'll certainly mention it here.

My best,

Victoria
