P.J. Gerrard-Gough I sit down and write a letter to someone in my life who has departed (moved and lost contact, died, whatever) that I had feelings about. Any form of writing including a diary, a letter, a short story for a child, an opinion on something that triggered your angst, will get your brain working on what you want it to work on again.
P.J. Gerrard-Gough I don't think there is a best thing. Writing improves every phase of life.
P.J. Gerrard-Gough 1. Write!
2. Carry a small notebook and pen with you at all times. Write down what you see/hear/feel as you move through your day.
3. Exercise your imagination by thinking up "what ifs" in answer to number 2 above or what you see around you.
4. Write!
5. Improve your English by listening to speech and reading but change genres often. You would be amazed by the language used by good writers.
P.J. Gerrard-Gough I have two books in the works and, under my pseudonym, several erotic stories. I move back and forth between them.
P.J. Gerrard-Gough I don't remember what first initiated my desire to write. I wrote a play about a piece of coal when I was four. My school put the play on stage and I played the lead role. This was in England so I doubt U.S. schools even believe kids have imaginations at that age and do not (from my personal experience being the father of 6) encourage development.
P.J. Gerrard-Gough I dreamed that I was a twin and had a threat against my other half. This has turned into a book that I am only halfway through. I am not a twin but think it would have been fun.
