I don't remember what first initiated my desire to write. I wrote a play about a piece of coal when I was four. My school put the play on stage and I played the lead role. This was in England so I doubt U.S. schools even believe kids have imaginations at that age and do not (from my personal experience being the father of 6) encourage development.
