It’s been said by many people in the know, that series sell better than standalone books, so my goal is always to write series. That’s not always the result, but it’s the goal. :0)

That they feel like they have to do everything right now. In reality, you don’t have to do everything and be everywhere. In terms of social media, pick the ones you enjoy and be your most authentic self.

Absolutely. There are plenty of genres that aren’t as emotion laden as romance, but having good critique partners and editors will help you put the needed emotions into the story, whatever the genre.

There’s no average for me. A book can take anywhere from six weeks to six months. Depends on what else is going on in life and how long the book ends up being.

The Secret Garden? Is it underappreciated, though? I don’t know… I struggled to read it as a child, but when I finally read it as an older teen, I absolutely loved it. If you’ve never read it go find it and read it

I love to read. I read a lot! Most of us do or we wouldn't be on Goodreads, would we? :0) But I also cross stitch, create cross stitch patterns for my Etsy shop, and enjoy Dallas Stars hockey with my daughter between October and late April/early May.

If I could travel to any fictional book world... There are so many to choose from aren't there. The world of Harry Potter, the world of Outlander, the world of Virgin River, Bridgerton...
Shondaland's version of Regency-era London seems fun, but, in all honesty, I'd like to travel to my own fictional book world of Linzer, Pennsylvania. Writing book two, In Shortbread & In Health, has been a challenge for multiple reasons and it might be helpful for me to soak up the ambiance of the town and meet the characters I'm working to bring to life.

Luckily, writers block isn't a thing I've dealt with often in the years I've been writing. I give myself a lot of grace, I get enough sleep, and I make sure I spend enough time refilling the well by reading everyday and doing other things aside from writing that bring me joy.

The best thing about being a writer is, rather obviously, telling someone's story. You imagine these people who become your pals and the challenges in their lives, and you want to give them a happily ever after, whether it be romantically or otherwise.

Learn as much as you can, but listen to your gut and question everything! What works for a big name author isn't necessarily going to work for you. So many aspects of their life and circumstance are different from yours. Your personalities are different. The publishing market changes on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, so even that (especially that) is going to alter results.
If you cringe about something that BNA recommends, then it's probably not for you. At least not now. As you grow and mature as an author in terms of writing ability and knowledge level, you'll be able to better judge what *may* work for you.
Most of all though, just write!!

I'm currently in final edits on a time travel historical and am hoping to have it available sometime in December.

I was inspired to write "To Linzer & to Cherish" when a friend mentioned an online publisher was looking for Christmas stories for an anthology. Ultimately, I opted out of the anthology, but decided to publish the book myself with plans for two additional Christmas books in the same world to come in 2022 & 2023.
