Shannon Pemrick Hi Kenisha! Sorry for such a late reply, I haven't been on Goodreads in while (books keeping me busy an all). Book 4 will be out the end of September.
Shannon Pemrick The revised edition of book 1 took longer than expected, pushing back the release date of the second book. My hope is to have book 2 available by the end of February.
Shannon Pemrick I do both actually. I'll write a large section of the book chronologically and then get a sudden urge to focus on a later scene. That's when I work on it until I feel like going back to where I had originally left off. This does cause some continuity errors I have to fix later, but that's what rewrites are for!
Shannon Pemrick This is a bit tough to answer. The first book of my trilogy took about four years to complete the first draft and another year for editing and redrafting. The second book took only about one and a half years and it's currently in it's multi revision process that should be done in maybe a month or two. Book three only took a year to write and the first draft is about the be complete. So I guess my answer is, it depends on the book.
Shannon Pemrick My trilogy got it's start when I was in my senior (last) year of high school during an assignment for a specialized English class. The class was dedicated to the genres of Scifi and Fantasy and we had to create our own characters for the "Hero's Journey". When the assignment was over, I couldn't let my characters go and after listening to the song "Away" by Breaking Benjamin, I got an idea for them and started fleshing out a world that revolved around the idea. I never planned to publish the idea, but after working on it for just over a year a friend read part of it and convinced me to do something with the idea. He told me it was too good not to share. Five years later the story was ready for the world to see and that was after I had expanded the idea so much, I had to turn it into a trilogy.
Shannon Pemrick Currently, I'm working on my next installments of my trilogy. Book two is currently in the revision and editing stages and it projected to be out the end of this year and book three's first draft is almost complete.
Shannon Pemrick Freedom. I get to imagine anything I want and choose what to expand on and what to throw away. I get to say what I want without having to worry about being told "no".
Shannon Pemrick I do a lot of different things. Most of the time I put down my writing and go do something else like play a video game or read a book. Sometimes I even clean. Yeah, that's right, cleaning helps me.

Other times I just go to another point in my book to write about. Because of how I plan out my books, it's pretty easy to find a different spot and write. Then, when I'm done with that new spot (or get blocked there), I go back to the problem spot and finish that part. There are times it can cause an issue with continuity but that's why self editing and drafting exist.
Shannon Pemrick Currently, I'm working on book two and three of my Experimental Heart Trilogy. Book two is in it's fifth or sixth draft (could be more at this point, I've lost count) and almost ready for beta reading and editing and book three is almost done with its first draft.
