Ron Bay I look at is as a natural part of writing. Writing isn't just putting words to paper, it's also the process of thinking, jotting down ideas, pondering story lines and scenes, sometimes needing to edit them in your mind prior to writing down. Although some writers think they need to write a certain number of words every day, I don't follow that line of thinking. Between The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain spent 8 years, presumably thinking, jotting down ideas and pondering story lines and scenes. What's the hurry?
Ron Bay It allows me to dig deep into my mind and heart, into my past and share myself with the world. It is amazing the stories that come from real life experiences. I've often said that if you want to know me, the true me, just read my fiction.

Ron Bay A coming of age adventure inspired by my two sons, and the occasional trips we made to the Ozarks, floating/canoeing down the Northfork River in southern Missouri. The working title is "Boots in My Water," a phrase we heard uttered by a drunk hillbilly one night while camping.
Ron Bay I lost my job and while searching for another, I wrote down stories from my childhood. When I shared those stories with others, I heard, "You should write a book!" So I did, and found out I loved writing at the tender age of 53.
Ron Bay As my father entered the last year of his life, I asked him to write down stories from his youth. From that I pondered what it might be like for him to spend 24 uninterrupted hours with his grandson, sharing lessons and stories from his life. In my pondering, I wrote Lost Highway.
