Hi Diana, for sure! I've been working on other things but I'm halfway through the first draft of book 4. Thanks for your interest!

Easy one here, Lizzie Bennett and Mr. Darcy because of how much they go through to find each other and how stubborn they both are.

So I have a bit of good news on this, I have taken on a new agent in the hopes that she can find a place for it in the States. Yes, my Canadian publisher could sell the books in the States, but they are a very small (3 people) team out of Halifax with limited pull south of the border. That means that yes, they could make my books available on Amazon, but probably could not get them into bookstores or get any kind of buzz for them.

Congrats.
I myself have wondered whether I should attempt to get an agent for the one book I've written so far. Congrats.

Ha! You say it like I have a plan! In all honesty, this opportunity came up, so I'm running with it. Who knew that getting a pilot commissioned would be easier than finding a U.S. Publisher!?

No, Angela Misri is my real name. I decided to use my real name for the mysteries I write, and pseudonyms for any other genre fiction I write. According to my agent and other authors I have spoken to, publishers seem to prefer that you 'stick to your bookshelf,' unless you are a big name like JK Rowling or Stephen King where your name actually sells the book.
As a reader, if I love one of your books, I am more likely to pick up another under your name, so I don't know that I agree with the publishing industries advice yet, but I do follow it.

Hmm... when I first started writing this series the truth is that I saw each casebook as its own story. Kind of like Stephen King's Green Mile, which he released as small paperbacks. When I started to submit to publishers I got the feedback that I needed to either 'fill out' the casebook into a 60k novel OR that I needed to put a few casebooks together to form a 60k novel. I chose the latter because it felt less like I was diluting my stories. So the problem has never been casebooks. I have more casebooks than I can manage!

Hi Evonne: It's actually only available in Canada right now because my agent is furiously working to get it placed with a U.S. publisher - I'm guessing you're not in Canada? Email me if you like: angela.misri@gmail.com

I've heard this from a lot of writers, so I shall pass it on with my complete agreement as a strategy: keep writing. No matter how many rejections you get, keep writing. Even if you have a book deal, keep writing. While you're waiting to hear back about the cover, keep writing. Just. Keep. Writing.
