Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, for Playstation 2. There was a moment in that game where you're inside a ruined building, and the way the sunbeams came in through a hole in the wall gave me an idea for a special skill that a character could have (don't want to give away too much, here). I eventually built the book around that idea.

Usually by identifying a problem in my WIP (how do the characters get to the next plot point? Why?) and starting to figure it out. That, watching fantasy movies, or reading books.

Book Three of the series that By Ways Unseen kicks off. Book Two is out to Beta Readers; once that comes back, I'll be working on its final draft and getting ready for release early next year. Meantime I'm working through the first draft of Book Three as well, and starting to plot Book Four.

Oh, heavens, I love everything about being a writer. I love the English language, I love working with it and making it do what I want it to (usually), I love the feel of the keyboard under my fingers, I love figuring out the story, making characters, being part of the writing community...The only thing I don't like is that most often you have to still have a day job.

Sorry to say, I haven't had a good case of Writer's Block for a long time. Usually I'm just tired and only want to watch a movie - but if I could sit up and write, the words still come.
Previously, when I did get Blocked, I usually fixed it by deleting the last paragraph I wrote and starting again. Which means I just wrote myself to a point I didn't know how to continue from.
