Candice Raquel Lee Effed Up: An Abnormal Romance is my most recent published book. The idea of writing a parody actually came from reading one to many paranormal romance novels. I have a very vivid imagination and a hair-trigger sense of humor, so if the description is a off, by which I mean if in reality it looked ridiculous, I laugh. The funny moments just added up until I was laughing more than paying attention to the romance. So, I took the funny moments and made then into a book.
Candice Raquel Lee I daydream a lot. I walk around dreaming up a world. When it gets too big for my head, I have to put it down on paper where there is a lot more room.
Candice Raquel Lee I am working on the sequel to my novel The Innocent. I finished the end and the beginning and have to do the middle. I am also working on a fantasy novel and a humor novel about a very Naughty Greek god!
Candice Raquel Lee Keep writing. You will suck at first even if all your friends tell you otherwise. Writing is a skill and like any skill you need to hone it. You need your ten thousand hours to master it, so don't lost an opportunity to do so. Write even if it suck because you'll get better, better at writing, at editing and at grammar. Then one day you won't be a writer, you'll be an author!
Candice Raquel Lee It is hard work being a writer, especially when you are self-published. I think the best thing is when someone enjoys your book and understands it. One writes to communicate, so when a reader finds that something that you put into your stories, that joy or pain and shares it, that's the best.
Candice Raquel Lee I tell myself I will just write a sentence. One sentence a day. It does not have to make sense or have a purpose, but when it is done then I don't have writers block because I have written something. It's a way to trick my mind. As long as I write anything a poem, a line, I'm not really stuck.
