I always wanted to write, but was in a demanding business I loved, plus husbands, lovers, friends and kids I spent every spare second with. Now I'm retired, kids grown and gone, husbands & lovers long gone, but I'm still gifted with friends and plenty of time to write. All those stories that have danced around in my mind waiting to be birthed are spilling out onto the computer screen faster than I can type. At the moment I'm working on a memoir, two novels and an anthology of short stories. Sometimes I think I should go back to work, at least then I had weekends off.

So far I haven't had it. Maybe I'm lucks, but the stories just seem to spill out. When I'm not working on a novel, I write short stories or articles, poems or blog (but not very often).

Telling all the stories I've always wanted to tell. I love spending time with my characters, they become my friends, and I'm always sad to leave them when the book is finished.

Don't stop writing. Keep a journal with you at all times, especially next to your bed, and write down all your ideas. They may be useful in the future if you are stumped by something. Also, join writers groups. Be careful to find one where the intent is to be helpful, then let other people critique your writing and don't take offense. I am in several groups where the intent is to improve our writing skills. If you don't listen when you are told something doesn't work, you'll never improve.

I'm presently at work on a series of books inspired by the great detective writers of the 1940s and 50s, updated to the present with a cast of unique characters with special characteristics. Let's say the books are both a tribute and a spoof. The title of the series is "Peudel & Compagnie - Problems Solved." The problem solving business has been in the Pudel family for 300 years, with offices around the world. The one in Orange County, California has just been passed along to three siblings, Antonio, Belvidere and Callista, who must show the family they are up to the task.
That's all I'm going to say at the moment, but I'll add a teaser - all my novels have dogs in them. You'll have to wait for the rest.

My most recent book is "Out Of The Chute." A top executive out of work and trying to figure out how to re-invent her life. It is inspired by what I have seen and learned in my life and by the lives of many people I have encountered along the way. The last several years have seen endless unemployed executives who don't know what to do. They existed in pampered positions suddenly pulled out from under them, positions that no longer exist in the job market. What's next? Pretty bleak options unless you change your mind set. Perhaps it is time to come "Out Of The Chute" and really learn about yourself and those around you, figure out what reality actually is and face it. Sometimes a great shock for those who never thought about anything but rising to the top of the ladder. How can you take off the blinders and still have the strength to hang on when the rungs break? I wrote the book as an inspirational road map with each story having a very subtle life lesson. I believe we are never too old to learn. My stories are filled with laughter, tears, joy, friendship, forgiveness and the understanding that life does not offer an answer for all the questions we encounter. Objective - open our minds to all possibilities and an understanding of those who live around us.
