T.I. Lowe I get to make it ALL up! Reality can be a so daunting, but when I'm creating worlds in my stories, I relish in having control over the outcome.
T.I. Lowe I'd go to Mallow Island in Sarah Addison Allen's book Other Birds. Allen creates vivid worlds in her magical realism. She always includes such yummy food descriptives, so I'd go around the island and eat at the different places mentioned, for sure. Then I'd hang out with the Dellawisp birds and the invisible parakeet.
T.I. Lowe Yes! And the narrator did such a wonderful job!
T.I. Lowe I don't like those two words, writer's block. Instead I view it more like a pause or a fabulous time to take a break. I take advantage of these sluggish times to ponder ideas. It to change up my daily scenery and to also read a new book.
T.I. Lowe I'm wrapping up my first draft on a book set in the 80's in rural South Carolina. Fun trip back to my childhood of jelly shoes, banana clips, and acid wash jeans. Working title is Under Magnolia.
T.I. Lowe Read, read, and then read some more. Then write, write, write, and write some more! And always write what you're passionate about, not what you think readers want you to write.
T.I. Lowe After a long restless night of rewrites, the grumpy author shuffled to the dark kitchen just before dawn. A cold sweat of terror overtook her as she found nothing but a dusting of coffee grounds in the bottom of the coffee can!!
