I'd go to Mallow Island in Sarah Addison Allen's book Other Birds. Allen creates vivid worlds in her magical realism. She always includes such yummy food descriptives, so I'd go around the island and eat at the different places mentioned, for sure. Then I'd hang out with the Dellawisp birds and the invisible parakeet.
