Lisa Marie Stephenson Read. Not only does it increase your vocabulary, but it also gives you ideas and stretches your imagination.
Lisa Marie Stephenson Writer's block? What's that? Of course, I'm teasing. Usually once I've got twenty pages in to a book I'm writing, I make a few notes about future scenes I envision. If I get writer's block on one scene, I can usually move ahead and work on those future scenes. I find daily chores to be more crippling than writer's block.
Lisa Marie Stephenson I love to read and watch movies/tv that share the same flavor as what I'm writing. For example, with Resilient, I would watch Alias, Point of No Return, things like that with strong female leads. Coffee is an essential too.
Lisa Marie Stephenson Since the completion of Resilient, I have had one line that just kept coming back to me. I wanted to write a sequel, but was waiting on reader response, to see if it was anything they would be interested in. In the meantime, I worked on other stories. When I received that much needed encouragement/boost from a reader, I sat down and wrote well over ten pages in one night. It was as if the story told itself. I had no idea where it was going.
Lisa Marie Stephenson I have four started projects, but am currently working on a sequel to Resilient.
