Hi Mark. I think the decision was probably based on the fact that I am an Orkney resident.

Never alcohol when I'm writing. I tend to carry multiple notebooks around in case a character starts talking in my head. That's how many of the scenes come to me - as dialogue. I mostly drink tea during the working day. Coffee is a treat I reserve for special moments. To be honest if the words are flowing then I forget to eat or drink. (But I make up for it later!)

There's probably no such thing. Whenever I get stuckl, the work isn't flowing, I do something else - watch a movie, read, go for a walk. I find that the only thing standing in my way is usually myself and my own judgements about my writing.
