Carla Susan Smith Hi Hengy,

It's so good to hear from you!

There's a reason you haven't seen any new books from me, well no Vampire's Promise books anyway - I have a historical trilogy coming out in January and February, called the Corsets & Carriages series. The three books are titled, Mischance, Resolve and Salvation. It's something different, but I hope people will give them a try.

Don't worry though , this doesn't mean I have given up writing paranormal romances! I'm hoping to self-publish 'A Vampire's Dream' which is a novella telling how Aleksei and Anasztaizia first met, and I hope to have that out before the end of the year, and then my current work-in-progress is a demon and fae novel. No title as of yet, but it's about a human girl who can see the fae as they truly are - and they don't like it!

Your idea about Rowan and Gabriel having a child is an intriguing one, and, I confess, something I've never actually thought of! I'm not sure how I would pull that off, but it's definitely something to think about. I was planning on writing a book about how Rowan and Gabriel first met, but then I've also had requests to tell Ryiel's story and we can't forget about Kartel (you just know he's up to no good!)

I promise I will send out newsletters once I have something either ready to release or I have cover art or plot details to share. Sadly I'm not a very fast writer but hopefully I'll be able to share the historical covers soon.

It was lovely to hear from you and you can e-mail me anytime. Take care and I hope all is well with you.

Best always,
Carla
Carla Susan Smith Oh my, there's so many to choose from! Still, if I have to then it must be the wonderful Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester.

This is a love affair for the ages, beginning with a horrible childhood, the dream of a passion that is realized, but then dashed away by circumstances beyond either of their control. And it isn't just Jane who suffers, but when you consider how Mr. Rochester was used by his family to marry an insane woman, you quickly come to realize that having wealth and privilege did not spare him. He is just as tainted by his birthright - even more so I think - as Jane is by hers. But in the end, true love does prevail, though not without exacting a price.

For me, Jayne Eyre is the ultimate, timeless love story. :-)
Carla Susan Smith Not sure if this really qualifies as "inspiration" but I started writing after reading a horribly bad romance novel! (True, I promise - and no, I won't tell you the title or the author.) After making more than a few disparaging remarks, my BFF dared me to prove I could do better ... and that's how I got started - LOL!
Carla Susan Smith Right now I'm halfway through revising and editing an historical romance while also working on the fourth book (title as yet undecided) of my paranormal series. The historical has been fun, and a nice change of pace for me, but when it's over I promise no more distractions until I'm finished with the Vampire's Promise series!
Carla Susan Smith Never give up on your dream. It may not come all at once, and you may even have to put it on hold for a while, but it's never too late to go back and pursue it.
Carla Susan Smith Definitely finding that other people enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them :)
Carla Susan Smith Oooh, that's a tough one - I've found chocolate & a big glass of wine helps! Seriously though, I'm not a writer who feels the need to write every single day, so if the words aren't coming then I simply step away from my laptop and go read. It's amazing how helpful losing myself in the work of a favorite author can be.
