I love crime fiction, so many of my big favourites are detective teams - particularly Conan Doyle's Holmes and Watson, and Agatha Christie's Poirot and Hastings. However, my all-time favourite fictional couple has to be P G Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster. The naive Bertie Wooster and the ultra-intelligent Jeeves make for a delightful pairing, and their adventures are a joy to read. You don't often find literature that can make you laugh out loud, but, for me, Jeeves and Wooster never fail.

'The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy' - 3 books, of course! - is not my story. It was brought to me by Europe's top dolphin trainer of the 1970s, along with documentation and witness testimony as authentication. Normally, I am a children's/teen writer, but this was such a powerful story and the subject matter so close to my heart that I couldn't turn it down.

Promotion of 'The Perfect Pair: Shards from the Mirror', the final book of 'The Perfect Pair Dolphin Trilogy'. This isn't just a story, it's also a campaign that has been fraught with difficulties. We were warned that we'd have problems when we embarked on this project, but we never dreamed how bad it would be. So, at the moment, there's a big question mark over the future.

I ask my brother, David! Seriously, I was mid-way through writing the 'Children's History of Lancashire' when I just hit a wall. Dried up. David walked in to find me staring at my laptop, and pulled up a chair. Since then, I've never written alone, and the rest is history. I guess I'm very, very blessed.
