Michelle Heatley A conversation overheard, a snippet of information on the news, the adventure of searching for information on Google and finding myself going off at a tangent. I take all of these and note them down, think about them and then the germ of an idea begins to develop. Of course it is 20% inspiration and 70% perspiration, as for the other 10% it is the writers curse procrastination.
Michelle Heatley My current novel, Stepping into the Blue, is set in WW1 and follows the story of one of the pioneering women police volunteers. It is still waiting for an agent or publisher to snap it up!

Michelle Heatley The best thing about being a writer are my readers. Once Fish Soup was published it was not MY book any longer it belonged to my readers. I love receiving reviews and comments on my Facebook author page.
Michelle Heatley Fish Soup started as a short story and won highly commended with Straford Literary Festival. Inspired by the success of the short story 'Fish Soup Day' I explored the myths and legends surrounding the ingredients of a fish soup and using this the novel was written.
