I'm not sure if my writing process is unique in any way. I listen to a lot of music, preferably movie and game soundtracks. I have scenes in my head that play similar to film. I write out key plot points and scene ideas on sticky notes, in notebooks, and I have files on my computer. Notes everywhere! As for the writing process, I will write out one scene, and from there the story tells itself until I arrive at the next point. It's very much like connecting the dots. I don't fully know what all will happen in a story. My characters often tell me at the last minute as I write how they feel or what they do. The story then pieces itself together. I always know the beginning and end before I start, which I think is the most important part. If I struggle, I try to get down the bare bones of the story within a chapter. I call those "skeleton" chapters. I will later go back during editing and add meat to the bones such as more scene descriptions or bits of information here and there that I may have left out. Once it's complete, I send some copies to some others to edit while I edit it myself many, many times. Having the Grammarly app on my word documents really helps a lot. I highly recommend it.

Writer's block is so hard! The best thing is to just push through it and start writing. Even if you only get a few hundred words in, it's better than nothing. Sometimes I listen to some good mood music and think about scenes. Sometimes I talk to myself, trying to pull out conversations or ideas. I know, that sounds crazy. I play a new video game, watch a new movie, or read a book. Sometimes pulling away and looking at someone else's creation helps to motivate.

The best thing is creating what you love and sharing it with others. In the past few months I've met so many great people! I've met fans, authors, artists, and made lots of new friends. It's amazing. We help each other out, and we learn from one another.

Never give up! There were so many times that The Esoteric Design was put onto the back-burner. I gave up on my goals and dreams and got an office job that sucked away at my life. After working years in a place that didn't particularly make me happy, I realized that I needed to make some changes. That's when I finished the novel.
As for the process, find someone...or multiple someones to read your book. Edit that sucker over and over again yourself! Make sure you don't leave key components out, and make sure things make sense. But the next major thing to do is learn how to let go. It'll never be perfect, and that's okay. Nothing is perfect. You can't wait forever. Sometimes you just have to dive in and learn how everything works. There's always room for improvement, and there's always things to learn. Finish the book to the BEST of your abilities, and use everything you can to help you in the process. Then, put it out there for the world to enjoy!

Playing video games. I love to game. There's always so many new ideas, characters, worlds, weapons, and better graphics flooding into the gaming community. If I don't game, then I draw inspiration from movies.

The Esoteric Design was influenced by the creation of my character Dovian. At the time I first made Dovian, I was really into anime and RPG video games like Final Fantasy. What started out as a sorcerer character concept turned into a series of characters that he would fight alongside. I then thought up the world and character interactions until everything flowed into one cohesive story.
