I have always wanted to visit the shire of the Hobbit books in a time of peace. The Outlander books have me planning a trip to Scotland and in the future I simply must visit Asia. There have been so many books about it that fascinate me!

I have been studying the eastern and western mysteries of divination and self-realization this lifetime and these always end up in my writing whether novel, poem or article. The current idea I am working on is how to convince people to meditate. This is the only way I have found to experience what we really are made of which is pure energy. It is the only way I have found to loosen and remove the grip of society and exterior chatter.
On another note, a mystery that has always amused me is when I awaken from sleeping—having been deep in a dream—and I hear my own voice singing. This morning it was Moon River by Johnny Mercer. This song and inspiration from his work, and Savannah, Georgia where he lived, already have crept into poems and writing. I am sure they are going to find their way into my next novel.

I am completely obsessed with Jamie and Claire Fraser of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. She is an amazing wordsmith and has be completely captivated as I only just recently started to read her books. The pair has be so drawn into their world that I feel I am part of them. Jamie has all the qualities of a vulnerable yet incredibly strong and cunning leading man and Claire is feisty and clever. I am in love with this pair so much that the next time I visit the UK I intend to go to Scotland!

To get past a block I do mundane tasks around the house and exercise. If I am working on a deadline for a periodical and I simply must get it done I change my location repeatably until the creative flow kicks in.

I encourage all aspiring writers to just write. Write with reckless abandon. Don't over think anything. Don't worry about being perfect. That is what the editing stage is all about. In the beginning—write for the sheer joy of writing!

I am currently working on a collaboration with my good friend who is a former surgeon and an Ayurveda doctor. We are writing on the topic of Ayurveda and well-being.
