I have just read my second Kate Morton novel and enjoyed it so much I have ordered the three others that I've yet to read. They are good fat books and as I don't have as much time for reading as I would like, they should keep me happy for quite a while.

I'm very interested in my family history, though I don't get as much time as I'd like to work on it, and there is one mysterious child who appears as a 6yr old daughter in the 1861 census, just a year after the parents married, and I'd love to know her backstory. Where did she come from? Were her 'parents' really her parents, or was she adopted by them from another family member to give her legitimacy. I'm quite tempted to do a story woven around a genealogical mystery....

I only suffer from plotters block - if I'm clear with the way forward, the words come easily - but the best way to deal with any form of block is to make yourself sit down and write your way through it.
I'm also a fan of taking myself away from my keyboard to a coffee shop or café and unlocking the block there, where there are no dogs asking for walks or chores vying for my attention.
(There might be the added attraction of a good latte and cake, but we won't mention that, will we...?)

Inspiration comes from all around. One never knows quite when it will strike or where! It's important to keep pen & paper handy!

It was an idea I'd had for a while, after reading a particularly unpleasant news article in the course of researching another plot.
