J.A. Gilbert Hello Tim. I've always hated having my photo taken, even when it was the annual photo at primary school. I love taking pictures, but try to avoid being the other side of the camera.
J.A. Gilbert Hello Paul,

I have tried a giveaway on Amazon and although some people did download it, none of them wrote a review afterwards. I suspect that some probably just downloaded it because it was free and probably haven't even read it.

I have got a Face Book author page, but must admit that I'm not very good at putting messages on it. I'm never quite sure what to write on it! The same is probably true with my Twitter account, where I tend to retweet more than tweet.

I've also just set up a website using Wix, but I'm not sure if anyone has looked at it yet. I used Wix because I was able to set up a free site for now and then if business takes off, I can upgrade to a paid one. I've included a blog on that site. It's http://josiegilbert025.wix.com/j-a-gi..., if you'd like to have a look.

I think sometimes you just need a bit of luck, with the right person taking a chance on reading something you've written.

J.A. Gilbert I don't think I'm really qualified to answer this question at the moment, as my first novel was self-published and I'm struggling to sell it.
J.A. Gilbert I often find it easier to shut the computer down and go and do something completely different. If I sit staring at the screen for too long, I just become frustrated and if I do write anything, it is usually rubbish.
J.A. Gilbert This will sound really bizarre, but it's a novel about a stuffed giraffe's head!
J.A. Gilbert I attended a writing festival at West Dean College near Chichester with a friend. The lecture we went to was held in the library of what is an old country house and we both said it would make an excellent setting for a murder mystery weekend. That idea then festered in my mind and gradually developed into my first novel.
