The seed for 'Homecoming' was first planted in my mind during a long conversation with my maternal grandfather about ten years ago. He was in the French Resistance and then one of the first Commissioners of the European Coal and Steel Community after World War II. He was a great man with some incredible stories to tell and my story is somehow linked to his. I won't say how exactly as I don't want to give too much away, but 'Homecoming' is in part a tribute to him.

With my last novel, 'That Special Someone', I was keen to give voice to people neglected by the mainstream and I wanted to explore the same theme with 'Homecoming'. I'm always inspired to write about what I see as social or moral injustice, but also about the beauty and passion I see in everyday life and relationships.
